Headteachers’ Welcome

We would like to extend you a warm and friendly welcome to our school. At Cadland, we have a dedicated staff team, who work hard to give every child a stimulating and exciting time so that they remember their primary years with great pride and pleasure.Read Write Inc Model School Logo

Our vision statement; ‘Striving together to be super STAR learners’; is at the heart of everything we do in school.

Children in Year R and 1 start by learning to be Super Learners by using their magnet eyes; listening ears; thinking brains and through learning together. As they move into Year 2 and beyond, we expect all children to become STAR learners and to:

S tick at a task until it is finished

T ackle challenges with the right resources and to be

A ware of how their learning is going and if changes need to be madeMain page pic 1

R eady to learn alone and with others.

It is crucial to us that all our children become skilled readers and writers. We also want them to be competent mathematicians and to be equipped with the necessary computer skills to help them with future learning. We will teach your children to understand their rights and their responsibilities to others and how to make a positive contribution to their school and to the community they live in.

We achieve this by offering children a creative curriculum, which includes music, cookery, gardening, a modern foreign language and use of our extensive grounds which allow children both free play and sporting opportunities. Children will also have the opportunity to experience a wide range of educational visits.

Children learn best when the school and parents work together in partnership. We value the importance of parental involvement. Parents will have regular opportunities to meet teachers. You will have the opportunity to attend concerts, curriculum events and social occasions.

The Leadership Team, which includes the Deputy Head, Assistant Head and Phase Leaders are also available to support you and your child.

We hope this website will give you a taste of what our school has to offer. We would also encourage you to come in, see us in action, speak to our staff and observe children striving to be super STAR learners.

We look forward to working in partnership with you throughout your child’s educational journey at Cadland Primary School.4 children on train
